Competition Rules & Definitions
Teams
- For the purposes of the teams competition, each team is split into a Male team and a Female team.
- Team competitions are ranked on "Team Time".
- Team Times do not include any team member identified as "Friend or Family" (i.e. anyone who is not a bona fide full or part time employee or exclusive contractor is excluded).
- The Team Time is calculated as the sum of the top 3 finishers (male or female) in that team. If the team does not have at least three finishers then no team time is awarded.
- Team Times are calculated using the "Gun Time" of the qualifying individuals (see definition below).
- Industry Category awards are based on the most appropriate industry for the organisation. Categories are: ACCOUNTING | FINANCE/INSURANCE | GOVERNMENT/HEALTH | LEGAL | SPORT/LEISURE | TECHNOLOGY | TRANSPORT & CONSTRUCTION.
Important! The race director will use their discretion to find an applicable industry category for each team ... even though the link may be somewhat "tangential"!
Individuals
- The individual competitions are open to all participants, whether part of a team or not.
- Awards are presented based on "Gun Time", which is the time taken from the starting signal to crossing the finish line.
- Online results lists are presented based on "Net Time" (sometimes called "chip time" or "personal time"), which is the time taken from crossing the timing mats at the start of the race to crossing the finish line.
- The CEO Challenge is open to all CEOs, CFOs, Senior Partners and Senior Board Members of each organisation. You must be nominated as a CEO when your team is registered in order to be eligible for the award.
